Helping Christians in Nepal at Christmas

Village Outreach Pack

Pastor Abheek was sweeping the gray cement floor at his church in Nepal one afternoon when he heard a large crowd approaching.

He looked through the metal bars covering a church window and saw about 60 villagers coming toward the church. The villagers held shovels, sickles, and axes. “Lord, they are coming to destroy your building,” prayed the pastor. “I put this in your hands.”

Pastor Abheek quickly escaped out the back of the church before the villagers began to pull off sections of the roof and smash through the walls. In just over an hour, the mob had reduced the church to rubble.

The pastor later learned that the mob was angry about seven villagers who had become Christians. Others in the village feared that all 1,000 people in the village might decide to follow Christ.

The Christians in Pastor Abheek’s church are now meeting in a tent, more faithful to Christ than ever before.

This year, Pastor Abheek and other pastors and evangelists in Nepal will receive The Voice of the Martyrs’ Village Outreach Packs to help them share the gospel. The packs contain a Bible dictionary, walking shoes, a coat, and MP3 player, and a blanket. With the items in the pack, pastors can reach out to more people in Nepali villages that are hard to reach because of rough roads.
