Prisoner’s Family Separated in Eritrea

Haile
Haile Nayzgi

Haile Nayzgi was arrested and put in jail in 2004. He was a church leader in Eritrea. Hundreds of Christians in Eritrea have been arrested in recent years for worshipping in churches that are not approved by the government. Read more about Haile in his Prisoner Alert profile.

The Voice of the Martyrs has received an update about Haile, who is still in prison, and his family. After Haile’s arrest, his wife and three children, Shalom, Yoel, and Nayher, escaped to Sudan. But because of difficulties in escaping from Eritrea, the family was separated.

The children, all under 16, are now in a refugee camp. They are cared for by a 22-year-old cousin. Their mother is in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. It is not safe for the children to be reunited with their mother at this time.

Please pray for Haile and his family during this difficult time.
