Pakistan Family Update

PakistanAnita and her children in their shop

The Voice of the Martyrs received an update from Pakistan about the family in the story “Following Jesus in Pakistan” posted on January 31st. VOM helped Anita, a Christian women in Pakistan, start a small shop to support her three children. Anita’s husband had left the family when Anita refused to join him in becoming a Muslim.

A VOM contact in Pakistan said that Anita’s pastor led a prayer meeting at the opening of the shop. Anita sells sugar, oil, flour, cereal, tea, candy, detergent, and stationery at her shop. The first day, her shop made a profit of $1.20. Anita prayed and gave all the money to the church. “I am very happy for your love,” she told VOM workers.

Read Luke 21:1–4. How is Anita like the woman in the Bible story?
