Letter from a Persecuted Country

The Voice of the Martyrs received a letter from a Christian in a country where the government persecutes Christians and Bibles are not easy to get. Read below what the letter said.

“I gave my life to Jesus when I was 17. Not very many people in the village church have Bibles of their own. Our church has a very big Bible. The pastor gave permission for us to read the Bible if we came to church early. About 35 people used to come and read for half an hour. To be honest, I did not even know how many books were in the Bible.

“One day after church, the pastor said the church would provide a Bible for anyone who didn’t have one. I said, ‘I don’t have much money right now. Can I pay you a little bit at a time?” The pastor said, “No, these Bibles are free. You do not have to pay.’

“I was almost crying. Now I will have a Bible. I will read it every day. We thank VOM for providing the church with these Bibles, and we pray for the thousands of believers who are waiting to receive the same blessing.”
