Possible Christian Answers

Jesus’ death and resurrection

“Muslims believe it would be disrespectful to say Jesus died on a cross. We don’t believe He died. What do you believe?”

We believe Jesus died and rose again after His death. God could have helped Jesus escape death. But Jesus conquered death. That glorifies God more than if Jesus escaped death. (See 1 Corinthians 15 and Romans 6:8-10.)

Paying for sin

“Christians sin and let Jesus take care of it. It isn’t fair that Jesus has to pay for someone else’s sin. Good Muslims take responsibility for their own sins. What do you think about that?”

Christians must also avoid sin and take responsibility for their actions. (See Romans 6:1,2.) Christians do good works to please God, but we do not believe good works can save us. We do not believe anyone but Christ is sinless enough to please God. That is why He is the perfect sacrifice for our sins. (See Ephesians 2:8,9 and 2 Timothy 1:7-10.)

Muhammad and Jesus

“We believe that Muhammad and Jesus were both just prophets. What do you think?”

Muhammad helped people understand that they should worship just one God. Many men have brought messages to the world about God. Jesus is the only one who did not sin. He is the only one who can plead on our behalf on Judgment Day. (See Acts 4:12, Romans 8:31-34, and Hebrews 4:15.)
