Cuba: Christians in Prison Print E-mail
Dr. Tom White, now director of The Voice of the Martyrs-USA, was in prison in Cuba in the late 1970s for dropping Christian pamphlets on communist Cuba. In prison, Dr. White carried all his possessions in a bag made from one leg of a pair of blue jeans. Find or make a bag about 15 inches long. If everything you owned had to fit in the bag, what would you keep? A toothbrush? Soap? A Bible? Decide what is most important to you, and see if it all fits in the bag.

Cuban prisoners were not allowed to have Bibles. When Dr. White was able to get a Bible, he put one page of the Bible inside a bar of soap and passed it to other prisoners. If you could share only one page of the Bible with a Christian in prison, which page would it be? Write a Bible verse on a piece of paper, and try to hide it inside a piece of modeling clay the size of a soap bar.
